"To be a drummer, you have to first hear THE Drummer" -Eric Daniels
The beat of the drum is the heart and soul of every composed song, that shares in the sweet savor of instrumentation. Ryan Strickland Jr., a 20 year old male, was born in Kansas City, MO. If you were to ask anyone who knows him, for a reference, you’d hear them say “ Ryan is a prodigy, with a strong testimony and he is certainly destined for musical greatness.” From the moment Ryan started walking, the gift for drumming had emerged. As he grew older, drumming was more than a gift, it became his passion. Fortunately, he had two mentors Minister Joshua Mayfield and Jermaine Ballew, both from Kansas City, MO, who are both professional musicians. They taught Ryan the technique and the strategy of forming his own trademark while playing drums. Among the two mentors that he had growing up Ryan also had other artists who influenced his progression. These include artists like, Tevin Curtis, Lacy Comer, Josiah Maddox, Courtney Byars, to name a few. By the age of 4 through age 10, he was honored to be chosen as one of the head drummers, for the International Church of God in Christ, in Kansas City, MO. Furthermore, a blessing in the form of an opportunity was given, when he was asked to play for two different churches in one Sunday. Much career advancement stemmed from these open doors and thus Ryan played for celebrities such as, Dorinda Clark, Donnie McClurkin, Charles Jenkins, Kim Burrell, etc. As a professional drummer, he was blessed to tour in Europe, London, Germany, and Italy with a fusion jazz group. These memorable experiences, led up to releasing a Single entitled ‘He Changed Me and My Faith’, on June 22, 2019, able to be purchased on ITUNES. In the upcoming years, Ryan plans to meet more artists and to collaborate with them on various professional platforms.
